All work is a gift from God to us. Work is not a punishment or consequence of sin – it was part of the original creation and will be part of our eternal joy. Work is also a gift of God through us to bless the people around us.

The Call to Work
We need to replace our culture’s idea of career (for the sake of personal fulfillment) with a Biblical commitment to vocation (for the glory of God). God calls us to specific tasks in seasons of our life (Eph. 2:10), using our GPS – Gifts, Passions and opportunities to Serve.

We reflect God’s image when we work and when we rest. Sabbath rest is not a punishment or restriction on beleivers but a wonderful and important gift from God. Rest is a necessity, a command and a promise!

How do you feel about the work you do? Do you consider your work a blessing or a curse? Do you feel called by God to do your work, or do you consider it a simple earthly necessity to put food on the table? Why do you work? Consider your motivations... To make money...
