2. Orientation to the End of the World - part 1

The book of Revelation was given to the church as an orientation to the end of the world. This dramatic and detailed prophecy draws from and expounds on passages like Matthew 24, 2 Thessalonians 2 and Daniel 9-11, just to name a few. Revelation 1-5 firmly establishes the message of the book, that Jesus reigns over all things, including the end of the world. He is in control – so we don’t need to worry about any of this. But neither should we ignore it! Jumping from Revelation 6 to other key passages we will study the first three of the seven stages for the culmination of history: 1) increasing “birth pains”; 2) (The secret “rapture” of the church); 3) The Great Tribulation.
