19. Empowered Ministry

The movement of this sermon flows out of God’s mercy. God’s mercy motivates our ministry. It’s the reason we can offer our bodies to Him as living sacrifices. Because Christ gave His life for us, we can freely give our lives to His service. We are all part of His body and called to serve in various ways, but this shouldn’t be a cause for pride. Our gifts are a product of God’s grace. They aren’t to be used for our glory, but for God’s glory. We are part of His body to exalt His headship! Therefore, we are motivated to know our gifts and serve according to our gifts. We all have a spiritual gift that enables joyful and fruitful ministry through God’s grace. These gifts are discovered in practice, confirmed in community, and expressed in service. When we serve according to God’s gift of grace, we get to rejoice in God’s glory.
