10. The Evidence

Why do you believe in Jesus? What evidence supports your faith? In Acts 3, after healing a man crippled from birth, Peter explains the miracle by pointing to the power of God and the glory of Jesus. Signs like this were an important line of evidence to confirm the apostles’ authority. (Remember, the New Testament wasn’t written until 20-30 years after the resurrection so the early church needed well established leaders to follow.) A second line of evidence was specific prophecies that were fulfilled in Jesus. And the third and primary point of evidence was the resurrection itself – as attested by hundreds of eyewitnesses!
