10. Gentleness

As we continue our series on the perfections of Christ, this Sunday we will study gentleness. What we learn in Matthew 11:28-30 is that Jesus is “gentle and lowly in heart.” No where else in Scripture does Jesus explicitly tell us what His heart is like except for this passage. At the core of Christ is a desire to embrace, not point a finger, to give mercy, not harshly condemn. We begin to realize His heart not only endures sinners, but passionately longs to forgive and restore sinners. This is the manifestation of HIs gentle spirit, and this Sunday we will further uncover how we, too, can take on the same.
