Paul’s trials at the end of Acts parallel the trials of Jesus at the end of Luke’s gospel. Like Jesus, Paul is innocent of the charges brought against him. But unlike Jesus, Paul does not remain silent. For Paul these trials are opportunities to proclaim the gospel. Like Paul, we can amplify our witness by standing firm with consistent Christ-like character and by maintaining a clear confession of our faith in one God (Jesus), one authority (the Bible) and one hope (eternal life).
