33. The Gospel Explained

Paul’s message to the philosophers in Athens in Acts 17 is one of the clearest gospel presentations in the Bible addressed to a pluralistic audience. Like America today, the Athenians honored many gods and prided themselves in their open-minded tolerance and practical religion. Paul cuts through all of that with the truth about God: 1) God is closer than you think; 2) God is greater than you imagine and 3) God is calling you to Himself. Then Paul ties all three points directly to Jesus.
